Hyundai Motor Company proved to be a winner once again by winning the World Car Awards with the IONIQ 5 N, an EV high-performance model, which was declared as the 2024 World Performance Car. This is the fourth edition of World Car Awards/ CCM which IONIQ 5 of lineup has earned in three years of Hyundai. Today’s victory confirms the IONIQ podium’s status as the leading competitor to the market as it keeps heading ahead of other EV competitors with its innovative high-performance technologies.
This year’s World Car Award winners culminated the event’s culmination with a formal introduction at the NYIAS. Hyundai Motor scores a number of nominations that show its longer global expansion path and herald the continuity of the firm´s past good result at the World Car Awards. The carmaker’s IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 received three awards in each successive year in the World Car, World Electric Vehicle and World Car Design categories leading 2022 and 2023.
Developed for the global Hyundai N line-up released in July 2023, N IONIQ 5 is the first high-performance EV that focuses on drivers‘ emotions through new technologies and greatly improved racetrack capacity as the very initial step towards the N electrification strategy. It takes the good ol’ E-GMP from the base IONIQ 5 and then adds in the high-performance tech from N’s racetrack experience and uses that same tech from their EV testing programs (Rolling Labs) in order get the maximum possible performance they can. Thanks to its good reputation in the media as ‘dauntless’, ‘game-changer’, and a ‘bar-raising’ premier instance of an EV, IONIQ 5 N has become a universal benchmark for high-performance eco-friendly cars. With victories in Top Gear’s Car of the Year award 2023, and the quickest electric SUV lap time of the Nürburgring Nordschleife track by Sport Auto Germany, IONIQ 5 N has further proved its credentials.
